You're Never too Old to Learn : Saying Good-bye to Cherry Hill Park

I'm a fifty year old man and this lifestyle is eye opening each step of the way. Every season, every park, stop, and workcamp job I've had leads to me learning something new, meeting some good humans, and understanding that humanity isn't as doomed as I often think. I’ve had an awesome run working here at Cherry Hill Park. The time has come for a bitter-sweet moment, I have to say good-bye to some very good friends and co-workers at the Capital Cafe.

Dwayne, you’ve taught me some super cool cooking tips and became a good friend. I’ll always cherish our “human” conversations, and look forward to our future as friends. Our "synergy", as you call it, was cohesive, and you put the gears in motion at the Cafe for a successful summer, at a cost of you being baptized by fire, and prevailing. Thanks for what you've done for my personal growth.

The sisters, no I won’t mention their names because they’re private, you both have proven to me that the generation you're a part of isn't lost with females like you leading the way and setting examples. I will say to the elder that I loved talking with you and learning a lot about your culture. I admire the way you do so many things behind the scenes that most young people couldn’t or wouldn’t do, thank you for the friendship, conversation and being genuine. The youngling, your ambition and knowledge of the world is advanced for your young years. With that you will climb as high as you want. I adore how silent and observant you are to your surroundings. Thanks to you both for the connection, now sport those Tim Eagle shirts with pride and brace yourselves for next year.

To the co-worker who inspired my blog post about buying a haunted house, you are quiet as a mouse but I got to know you well, here's to a bright future after high school, you got this. Give credit to yourself for hard work and recognize that you're doing good.

To the very first person who I've met that was taller than me was also an inspiration in their own way. And finally, the young lady who tried her hardest, and achieved, to pick my brain, when doing her college homework during down time, thank you for making my knowledge feel validated.

I will forever embrace the connections I’ve made and send my love to every one of you. Each of you have earned a place in my heart and I'll cherish the connection for years to come.

I was invited to come back to Cherry Hill Park next year, and I accepted. This park is a well-oiled machine in the scheme of things, and it was a privilege to put on the uniform and give the customers a great experience. The family who run this park are caring, and good people, a rarity in the world. I will be back next year in this splendid DMV area and look forward to more full time RV life adventures.

Maria and I are leaving soon, so stay tuned on the socials for updated videos, reels, and posts, as we board the Mothership and travel onward. If you’re in the DMV are in 2025, reach out, maybe we can meet and chat, there are a lot of places to explore. If you would like to continue and support me, my journey and writing endeavors, here's some ways: buying some fiction, buying a shirt (Tim Eagle Merch) or just buying me a coffee (equivalent to leaving me a tip).

Thanks for reading.
